Our team is comprised of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Our inpatient pharmacy team collaborates closely with healthcare providers to ensure optimal medication management for hospitalized patients. We oversee the medication storage, distribution, and management in a variety of settings. We review medication orders for accuracy and potential interactions, accurately prepare and dispense medications, provide evidence-based drug information, monitor drug levels to optimize therapy, and educate patients and families about their medications. By prioritizing medication safety and minimizing adverse events, we strive to improve patient outcomes and contribute to their overall well-being. Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital opened on Jan. 24, 1955 as a 238-bed community hospital. Today, the hospital is a 1,101-bed major academic and referral center with Level I adult trauma and Level II pediatric trauma designations. Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital has 43 residency and fellowship programs with 454 residents and fellows. Corewell is the exclusive clinical partner of the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, with more than 1,400 doctors on faculty. Under moderate direction and supervision, operate in designated areas or job functions within the site location. Functions relatively independently and has some decision-making responsibility. May interact with other departments and/or businesses outside of the pharmacy department. Enhanced knowledge/training of area assigned above and beyond a pharmacy technician. Participates in training of employees in the area of specialty. Operates in a designated area of specialty or assigned responsibilities above and beyond technician duties. Assumes ownership and ensures quality and completeness of work assigned. Responsible for data collection and/or reporting related to assigned area/project. Serves as a role model and leader in the department. Escalates any concerns that are identified in their area of work through chain of command. Required to adhere to regulatory guidelines to maintain compliance (including USP [795] [797] [800] in sites that perform sterile compounding). Participates in training others in area of specialty.
