About The Position

Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Pharmacy Technician for our Specialty Pharmacy. This role involves entering prescription data, coordinating deliveries, communicating with patients for medication refills, documenting and triaging patient problems, educating patients on specialty pharmacy services, assisting patients with insurance and financial assistance programs, and answering patient inquiries. The position operates on Monday-Friday day shifts only, with no weekends, evenings, or holidays.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency
• Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program
• At least one year of pharmacy technician experience
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of WI
• Nationally-recognized certification for pharmacy technician credential (CPht or ExCPT) or willingness to become certified within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Enter prescription data
• Calculate dispensing quantities
• Coordinate delivery with other pharmacy locations
• Communicate with patients on the phone or through the electronic medical record monthly to coordinate their medication refills
• Document and triage patient problems with medication therapy to the appropriate pharmacist for follow up
• Educate patients on specialty pharmacy services
• Assist patients in navigating prescription insurance coverage and manufacturer financial assistance programs
• Answer the telephone and respond to patient inquiries
