About The Position

A growing healthcare services organization is seeking a Specialty Pharmacy Data Specialist to support healthcare data operations within a specialty pharmacy and reimbursement environment. This role will focus on reviewing and validating healthcare data, researching data exceptions and discrepancies, supporting batch data processing, and working with internal systems and AI-supported tools to ensure information is processed accurately. The ideal candidate has previous experience within specialty pharmacy, pharmaceutical services, reimbursement, patient support programs, or healthcare hub services and is comfortable working with data, Excel, and multiple healthcare systems. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong healthcare operations background who enjoys researching issues, identifying discrepancies, working with data, and determining why something does not look right.

Requirements

  • Previous professional experience within the healthcare industry.
  • Previous experience within specialty pharmacy, pharmaceutical services, reimbursement services, patient support programs, patient access, healthcare hub services, or a closely related environment.
  • Experience working with healthcare-related data, systems, reports, spreadsheets, or operational workflows.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies within large amounts of information.
  • Ability to learn new systems and technology quickly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with both operational and technical teams.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and handling protected or confidential healthcare information.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
  • Must be able to work on a W2 basis.

Responsibilities

  • Review, research, and resolve data exceptions, discrepancies, validation issues, and escalations.
  • Support data operations associated with specialty pharmacy and reimbursement programs.
  • Review and validate healthcare data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Work with internal systems and AI-supported tools to review, research, and process healthcare data.
  • Support batch data and file processing, including identifying failed, incomplete, or inaccurate records.
  • Research data and system issues to identify potential root causes and determine appropriate next steps.
  • Use Microsoft Excel to organize, compare, validate, and analyze healthcare data.
  • Identify trends, recurring discrepancies, and potential process issues within data sets.
  • Escalate technical, system, or data-related issues to the appropriate teams.
  • Partner with patient services, reimbursement, operations, data, and technical teams to resolve issues.
  • Document findings, resolutions, and recurring data issues clearly and accurately.
  • Assist with testing and validating system, data, or process changes.
  • Manage multiple assignments and escalations while meeting established deadlines.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, privacy, security, and program requirements.
