About The Position
BioPlus Specialty Pharmacy, a proud member of the Elevance Health family of companies, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I – Data Entry. This role is crucial for providing an unparalleled level of service focused on whole health through clinical expertise, digital capabilities, and broad access to specialty medications. The Pharmacy Technician I will be responsible for interpreting and entering basic prescription data and troubleshooting adjudication issues. The position offers a hybrid work model, requiring associates to be in-office 1-2 days per week, balancing collaboration with flexibility. Candidates must be within a reasonable commuting distance of the Lake Mary, FL location.
Requirements
- Requires H.S. diploma or equivalent and minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
- Current State Pharmacy Tech Required.
- Certification or National Certification based on applicable state(s) required.
Nice To Haves
- Specialty Pharmacy experience is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience working in a call center environment preferred.
- REMS & Oncology experience highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Verifies member information and inputs data for the pharmacists.
- Accurately reads, interprets, and transcribes prescriptions, charts, and lab notes, including working knowledge of ICD-10 codes.
- Educates members on pharmacy-based rules related to prescriptions and medication resources or assistance programs.
- Provides resolution to grievances and appeals issues.
- Responds to inquiries from physicians, sales team, and members related to formulary and prescription benefits.
