About The Position

The Specialty Operations Pharmacist serves patients of the UVMMC Specialty Pharmacy and works in the Specialty Pharmacy. The pharmacist collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to resolve medication-related problems; dispenses medications according to prescription orders; screens for and resolves medication-related problems and financial barriers; and counsels patients and health care professionals on proper medication use. The pharmacist maintains good business practices and sound clinical judgment to support departmental success and patient outcomes. The role also involves triaging and answering questions about specialty pharmacy prescription fills and prior authorizations.

Requirements

• PharmD or B.S. pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy.
• Licensed pharmacist in Vermont.
• Minimum of one year of experience within the past five years in a retail, mail, call center, specialty, or home infusion pharmacy.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of one year of experience in a health system pharmacy is preferred.
