About The Position

The Specialty Operator 4 will follow standard work and operate hand-jack wheels to buff, texture, and polish faucet components to meet quality standards and production goals. This role requires accuracy, organization, and timeliness in performing duties. The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, possess a positive attitude, be willing to work overtime, and have a desire to improve business processes.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents like safety rules, Delta specifications, Standard Work Instructions, job instruction documents, and aspects of Delta’s MOS (Masco Operating System), SFM (Shop Floor Management) system, QMS (Quality Management System) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and decimals.
  • Ability to apply reason and understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Understand basic reports and daily business requirements.
  • Ability to work independently or with limited supervision.
  • Acceptable disciplinary performance – Employees who have received a written warning (first or second) are not eligible for promotions or transfers for a minimum of six months after receiving that warning.
  • Acceptable attendance performance - Employees who have six or more points are not eligible for promotions or transfers.
  • A human performance evaluation or HPE may be required to determine if the applicant is physically able to perform tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.

Nice To Haves

  • HS degree or HS equivalency diploma is recommended.
  • Experience in manufacturing operations is preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of safety practices, product quality, delivery, and productivity / cost are preferred.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving ability are necessary because of continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Handle faucet parts carefully to avoid damaging the part.
  • Buff / texture all sizes and types of faucet parts using a high-speed buffing wheel.
  • Inspect parts.
  • Perform job according to standard work.
  • Meet production and quality standards.
  • Rack and un-rack parts.
  • Collect data.
  • Pull prints to verify print specifications.
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills, and work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.
  • Work safely while performing job duties.
  • Complete hazard observations or observe unsafe actions and report both using Delta Faucet’s standard procedures.
  • Perform housekeeping duties consistent with 5S and visual workplace standards.
  • Accept / Reject parts to DS-500 specifications.
  • Perform ERGO stretches.
