About The Position

The Specialty Operator 4 role involves following standard work procedures to operate hand-jack wheels for buffing, texturing, and polishing faucet components. The goal is to meet quality standards and production targets. This position requires accuracy, organization, and timeliness in performing duties, along with a customer-focused attitude, a positive outlook, and a willingness to work overtime and contribute to business process improvements.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, Delta specifications, Standard Work Instructions, job instruction documents, and aspects of Delta’s MOS, SFM, QMS, and ERP systems.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and decimals.
Ability to apply reason and understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to understand basic reports and daily business requirements.
Ability to stand, walk; use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms.
Ability to occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
Acceptable disciplinary performance (no written warnings within the last six months).
Acceptable attendance performance (less than six points).
Willingness to work overtime.
Desire to improve business processes.
Customer-focused attitude.
Positive attitude.
Ability to work independently or with limited supervision.

Nice To Haves

HS degree or HS equivalency diploma recommended.
Experience in manufacturing operations is preferred.
Knowledge of safety practices, product quality, delivery, and productivity/cost are preferred.
Critical thinking and problem-solving ability are necessary.

Responsibilities

Handle faucet parts carefully to avoid damage.
Buff/texture all sizes and types of faucet parts using a high-speed buffing wheel.
Inspect parts.
Perform job according to standard work.
Meet production and quality standards.
Rack and un-rack parts.
Collect data.
Pull prints to verify print specifications.
Problem-solve and troubleshoot with limited supervision.
Stand or sit for long periods of time.
Work safely while performing job duties.
Complete hazard observations or observe unsafe actions and report them using standard procedures.
Perform housekeeping duties consistent with 5S and visual workplace standards.
Accept/Reject parts to DS-500 specifications.
Perform ERGO stretches.
