About The Position

The Specialty Director of Psychiatry provides enterprise-wide clinical leadership for Aunt Martha’s psychiatric and medication-management services. This position is responsible for clinical standardization, quality improvement, workforce development, and program excellence across the psychiatry service line. The Specialty Director partners closely with the Chief Medical Officer, Regional Medical Directors, the Vice President of Behavioral Health and Integration, operational leadership, and clinical teams while maintaining an active psychiatric practice. This position also serves as a voting member of the Clinical Leadership Council.

Requirements

  • Active Illinois medical license in good standing.
  • Board certification in Psychiatry.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience at Aunt Martha’s or a comparable Federally Qualified Health Center.
  • Demonstrated commitment to health equity and medically underserved communities.
  • No active disciplinary actions or unresolved peer-review findings.
  • Ability to dedicate 0.2 FTE to administrative leadership responsibilities.
  • Ability to travel to Aunt Martha’s health center locations when needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Psychiatric subspecialty expertise or demonstrated specialty leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead psychiatric clinical standards across all Aunt Martha’s locations.
  • Oversee medication-management protocols and promote consistent prescribing practices.
  • Support the integration of crisis services and warm-handoff protocols with primary care.
  • Lead substance-use disorder program standards and treatment consistency.
  • Monitor psychiatric UDS measures and HEDIS performance.
  • Coordinate with external psychiatric partners and inpatient facilities.
  • Partner with Behavioral Health leadership to support therapy-program quality.
  • Support trauma-informed care and adverse childhood experience initiatives.
  • Provide clinical expertise to psychiatric training programs and clinical education partners.
  • Attend monthly Clinical Leadership Council meetings, contribute to clinical policy development, and report to the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Maintain an active psychiatric clinical practice while fulfilling administrative leadership responsibilities.
