About The Position

PAI Ventura is seeking a Specialty Direct Support Professional for their supported living service program for adults with developmental disabilities. This role involves assisting participants in connecting with their community, building relationships, and supporting them with daily living skills. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, have a person-centered mindset, and be able to communicate with dignity and respect. The position offers flexible shifts and opportunities for meaningful work within the community.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license
• Responsible, and can document goal progress tracking with detail

Nice To Haves

• DSP 1 & 2 certification (applicants who are not yet certified can take advantage of our internal certification programs)
• CPR / First Aid certification (Training will be provided if applicants are not certified or need to be recertified)
• Weekend Availability (Is a plus but not required)

Responsibilities

• Assist participant in connecting with their community and assist in building lasting relationships via providing transportation, participating in events, volunteering, and more
• Support participants with daily living skills such as cleaning, cooking, budget management, and light household duties
• Following care plans and helping participants achieve their personal goals
• Encourage healthy habits, studies, hobbies, and social activities
• Assist with personal care such as medication support, hygiene and bathing (lifting / transferring may be required)
• Collaborate Person-Centered Care planning with participant, staff and management
• Document shift and communication logs
