The Specialty Clinic Assistant is a multi-skilled health professional who works interdependently with other health care professionals to provide quality health care to Specialty Clinic patients. This role will safely, effectively, and efficiently perform clinical assistant duties required to assist in meeting Specialty provider and patient needs. A Specialty Clinic Assistant will be working closely with other departments on campus and will need to keep a professional relationship. Clinic assistants work directly with General Surgeon and Interventional Pain Clinicians and will be expected to fill in with other specialty clinicians as needed. This includes providing direct patient care, rooming patients, scribing, taking vital signs, reviewing patient charts in the EMR system, helping with small procedures, and administering immunizations, as well as chart prepping. Additionally, inbox management, which would include but not limited to, calling/contacting patients with results, reviewing patient messages, and completing patient forms.
