About The Position
This position is for a Specialized Programs Teacher Assistant at Lummis ES, working primarily one-on-one with a student in the Autism program. The role involves supporting the student's educational and developmental needs within the school environment. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must possess a valid Nevada Teaching License with an endorsement in Special Education or be eligible for a Special Education endorsement.
- Must possess a valid Nevada Substitute Teacher License or a valid Nevada Teaching License.
- Must have completed 48 college credits from an accredited college or university, or pass the Para-Professional assessment.
- Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in an educational setting.
- Must have a valid Nevada driver's license.
- Must have current CPR/First Aid certification.
- Must have current Handle With Care (HWC) certification.
- Must have current Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.
