About The Position
This position is for a Specialized Programs Teacher Assistant at Lummis ES, focusing on the Autism - Primary program, involving one-on-one support with a student. The role requires 9 months of employment with 6 hours per day.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate's degree, completion of 60 college credit hours, or passing score on the Paraprofessional Assessment
- Experience working with students with disabilities, particularly autism spectrum disorder
- Ability to assist students with academic, behavioral, and personal care needs
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with teachers and other staff
