About The Position
This position is for a Teacher Assistant III in a specialized program, specifically supporting the Autism program for intermediate grades (3 through 5) at J.T. ES McWilliams. The role involves working with children in this specialized program. Applicants and employees are responsible for uploading all required documents as listed in the job description. If currently holding a position that requires a certification listed, that document still needs to be uploaded. The position is for 9 months and requires 7 hours per day.
Requirements
- High school graduation or other equivalent (i.e., General Educational Development (GED), foreign equivalency, etc.).
- Minimum of 48 credit hours from an accredited college or university, or a passing score on the Educational Testing Service (ETS) ParaPro assessment.
- Experience working with children.
- Current CPR/AED certificate from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or other similar organization. Certification must be maintained for the duration of the assignment. Certification training must be in-person and include a hands-on component. Online courses will not be accepted. A copy of the front and back of the CPR/AED certificate must be uploaded into the application.
Nice To Haves
- Signing abilities (for the hearing impaired program).
- One (1) year of experience working with special education children.
