About The Position

This position is for a Specialized Programs Teacher Assistant III within the Additional Assistance program, which is a school-wide program for Special Education students, primarily in grades K through 2. The role is for a 9-month, 7-hour per day position.

Requirements

High school graduation or GED equivalent.
Completion of two (2) years (60 semester credits) of study at an institution of higher education; OR
Possession of an Associate of Arts degree; OR
Passage of a rigorous assessment that demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to assist in rigorous academic instruction, including reading, writing, and mathematics, as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) (e.g., Praxis Paraprofessional assessment).
One (1) year of experience working with students in a special education setting.
Must possess a valid Nevada driver’s license.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Must be able to reach with hands and arms.
Must be able to talk and hear.
Must be able to see up close, at a distance, and have peripheral vision, with or without correction.
