About The Position
The City of Burlington is accepting applications for Specialized Program Instructor – Musical Instrument Teacher, specifically for brass instruments teaching positions for the 2026/2027 Music Lessons session beginning in September. Expectation to instruct from introductory to intermediate level students in multiple genres (e.g., concert band, classical, jazz, pop, RCM repertoire and theory exam preparation). Hours of work will vary dependent on program need.
Requirements
- Attendance and completion of all City of Burlington mandatory training dates
- A clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening at their own expense
- A minimum of a Diploma in Music, or relevant practical experience providing music lessons.
- Confidence, patience, time management, strong communication and organization skills.
Nice To Haves
- Professional performance, private teaching, brass doubling, and/or marching band experience is an asset.
