About The Position

The Specialty Pharma Nursing Manager (SPNM) is accountable for the day-to-day nursing and administrative operations, general oversight, and leadership within their assigned territory of the specialty Nursing Network. The SPNM will oversee a team of Specialty Pharma Nurse Supervisors (SPNS), Clinic Leads, and frontline Nursing staff to ensure quality care throughout the BSRx nursing network, both in infusion clinics and at home. The SPNM is responsible for the delivery of all Nursing services within the assigned territory while ensuring compliance with internal and external Standards of Practice of the province(s) where service delivery takes place. The SPNM works directly with local Bayshore Home Health offices that recruit and onboard highly skilled Nurses. The SPNM or delegate will assist with training, coordination of clinical education, in-service activities, and all other clinical requirements for new hires.

Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited Nursing School with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BScN) degree or equivalent.
  • Current registration and in good standing with the provincial nursing licensing body of all clinics/service delivery in their assigned territory.
  • Must be a Registered Nurse.
  • ACLS/BLS required.
  • Chemotherapy – Biotherapy course completion is required.
  • Minimum 5 years Nursing experience, preferably in a critical care (e.g., ER or ICU), infusion clinic, or oncology setting.
  • Peripheral intravenous administration skills.
  • Central Vascular Device Access and Care Skills (e.g., CVADs and PICCs).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to manage relationships with a proven track record of exceptional customer service.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to handle difficult situations in an objective and consistent format.
  • Able to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Able to perform and prioritize multiple functions and tasks.
  • Able to read and interpret technical instructions related to client care.
  • Able to visually and auditorily observe and assess clients.
  • Proficiency on Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Travel, as needed, within a defined territory as part of regular work responsibilities up to 80% travel required.
  • Able to travel bi-annually to our National Head Office in Mississauga or our National Pharmacy in Markham (requirement).
  • Bilingual if required for the geographic territory.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support service delivery within Bayshore’s Infusion Clinic and Home Pharma Network.
  • Act as a clinical and operational resource to Bayshore Specialty Rx’s Nursing Supervisors (SPNS), Nursing Team Leads, and frontline Specialty Infusion/Injection Nurses, by providing support, leadership, mentorship, and guidance as needed.
  • Report and document Adverse Events as per Pharmacovigilance requirements.
  • Identify, assess, and implement new business opportunities under the direction of the Regional Operations Manager, Senior Operations Manager, and National Director.
  • Oversee key performance indicators (KPIs) within the given territory.
  • Work closely with the scheduling team to ensure efficient operations.
  • Undertake change management activities to meet ever-changing business needs.
  • Responsible for the clinical education of all Specialty Nurses.
  • Implement performance management initiatives with subordinates.
  • Ensure clinic nurses are compliant within Bayshore policies and procedures.
  • Ensure Bayshore and Partner clinics meet Bayshore standards, in preparation for both internal and external audits as applicable.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and ensure that Specialty Infusion Clinic(s) within his/her region are operating efficiently and safely.
  • Conduct performance management, and probationary/annual performance reviews of direct reporting Clinical staff.
  • Act as a liaison between PSS Program Managers, Branch management, and Area Directors, staff nurses, and medical advisors, as appropriate.
  • Participate in sales or public relationship efforts with key stakeholders.
  • Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities.
  • Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System.
  • Participate in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties.
  • Coordinate billing invoices for dedicated clinics.
  • Ensure the maintenance of all applicable training for nursing staff.
  • Review clinical utilization, scheduling, and local trends, including issues and challenges, as required.
  • Review all QE incidents and quality issues, ultimately responsible for assisting with planning corrective actions and actively participating in QE trending within the assigned territory.
  • Accountable for employee engagement, retention, and turnover in the dedicated region.
  • Perform duties of Nursing Supervisors in areas of the region without an assigned Nursing Supervisor.
  • Complete all other tasks delegated by the Regional Operations Manager, as requested.
