About The Position

The Material Program Management position provides Supply Chain/Material Management (SC/MM) representation and leadership in support of Business Unit and Business Development activities. This role is responsible for effectively leading the SC/MM functional organization to develop and document strategies, plans, and processes to manage the supply chain for integration into the Program Management Plan. The position works directly with Program Management and serves as the primary customer contact for the Supply Chain portion of program activities. It also represents procurement on the Integrated Program Teams (IPTs) and interfaces cross‑functionally to resolve material status issues, problems, or risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience; OR a graduate degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience; OR, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

  • Ability to implement product design and development stage‑gate processes (design, build, and test reviews).
  • Experience leading, coaching, reviewing, and critiquing the work of supporting team members to maximize program success.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously and make real‑time adjustments in response to issues or unexpected results.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and lead integrated cross‑functional team(s) within assigned program(s), interacting with suppliers, the supply chain director, program managers, functional managers, and customers to achieve subcontract cost, schedule, and technical objectives.
  • Support the Supply Chain portion of development and production proposals, including planning and executing affordability, supplier quality, and other supplier performance improvement initiatives submitted to Government and Prime Contractor programs.
  • Support negotiation of subcontracts and assist in developing supplier baseline program plans, including supplier budget and schedule baselines consistent with program plans.
  • Prepare and lead presentations to peers, customers, suppliers, and managers.
  • Communicate effectively within and outside of the Supply Chain organization.
  • Oversee contract negotiations with critical suppliers, including those that are single or sole source due to technology requirements.
