Canada’s Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) program is one of the country’s largest tax incentive programs, designed to support research and development activities and foster technological innovation. KPMG’s Tax Incentives Practice (TIP) is a multidisciplinary team of engineers and accountants that helps clients access tax savings through incentive programs such as SR&ED. The practice works with organizations across a wide range of industries and technologies. KPMG is seeking a technology‑minded professional to join its SR&ED Tax Incentives group. This opportunity is well suited to an engineering or computer science professional with experience in software development who is interested in transitioning into a consultative, client‑facing role. In this role, you will engage with CTOs, chief architects, and software developers to assess client projects for SR&ED eligibility. You will identify qualifying software and engineering activities, rapidly understand new technical concepts, and translate complex development work into clear, defensible technical narratives. You will also support Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) reviews, including participating in meetings to explain and defend submitted claims when required.
