The Specialist, Recreational Sports, under general supervision, assists in the oversight of the recreational center, intramural program, employee leadership programs, and/or administers fitness and wellness programs. This role is responsible for assisting in the managing, planning, and supervising the day-to-day operations of the E-Sports program and Dusty’s Den (Game Room) and marketing of programs. The position ensures all NACE (National Association of Collegiate E-Sports) requirements are met for institution and athletes to maintain eligibility. It also involves developing a marketing plan to promote the program through creating graphics, hype videos, player spotlights, and website and social media updates. A comprehensive risk management plan is monitored, and accident/incident reports are completed by student employees. The role assists in developing short-range goals for the department’s programs and/or operations, develops procedures for documenting departmental business processes, and supervises all aspects of assigned program(s). Additionally, the Specialist assists in recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating assigned personnel.
