This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will conduct internal production/process and manufacturing quality control audits and risk assessments. Prepares audit plans and understands the specific issues to be evaluated. Completes internal audits within established manufacturing and production controls to ensure compliance with in-house and external specifications and standards (i.e., GLP, GMP, ISO, Six Sigma). Develops formal written reports to communicate audit results to management and regulatory compliance agencies, if applicable, and makes recommendations as appropriate. May facilitate work of external auditors during on-site visits. May conduct vendor evaluation audits to determine qualifications. Manufacturing Quality Assurance work includes defining and specifying activities, processes, and standards to fulfill the quality requirements for a manufactured material, component, or product, building and maintaining the infrastructure and systems necessary to consistently ensure the timely delivery of quality products, auditing, monitoring, and determining the quality of manufacturing processes and/or outputs against defined internal and regulatory standards. Reporting and solving manufacturing process deviations and defects in finished goods.

Requirements

  • Minimum Quality experience of 3 to 5 years and/or relevant education in a related technical field
  • Quality assurance experience on an engine test stands, manufacturing and launch operations environment
  • Mid quality level experience on maintenance, modifications, dimensional measurements, and inspections
  • Knowledgeable on technical documentation, system configuration and assemblies
  • Familiarity performing AS9100 or ISO9001 audits within a Quality Management System
  • Ability to support test and launch operations for first and/or second shift throughout the week

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Aerospace, space launch, military/commercial aviation highly preferred.
  • Experience with quality tools such as Lean principles, Six Sigma, root cause analysis and corrective action
  • Experience with advanced product quality planning (APQP), process failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA), control plans, and various problem solving approaches
  • Quality Management System audit experience
  • Quality performance measurement analysis capabilities
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification a plus

Responsibilities

  • Review product Non-Conformances to ensure data accuracy and drive corrective action
  • Perform witness buy-offs and close out inspections of work orders
  • Perform process surveillances on test and flight operations
  • Review scrap material and correctly process to ensure proper segregation documentation
  • Investigate process non-compliances and document findings
  • Work closely with Quality Engineers to analyze data and drive improvement
  • Assist and lead Continuous Improvement projects and Root Cause Analysis events
