The Pharmacy Quality Assurance & Patient Safety Specialist plays an important role in supporting patient safety and continuous quality improvement across pharmacy operations. This position is responsible for collecting, reviewing, and auditing prescription quality event data, validating data accuracy and completeness, identifying potential data quality concerns, and supporting reporting and trend analysis. The Specialist will work with data from STARS, Walgreens’ patient safety and quality event reporting system, as well as other pharmacy systems. STARS is used to document, review, investigate, and analyze pharmacy quality events and patient safety concerns. The data captured through these systems helps identify trends, inform quality improvement initiatives, improve pharmacy processes, and enhance patient safety. Working closely with Business Analysts and cross-functional partners, the Specialist helps ensure quality event data is accurate, complete, and actionable. This role provides an opportunity to apply pharmacy knowledge and analytical skills to meaningful work that supports better healthcare outcomes and operational excellence.
