About The Position

Provides oversight of pharmacy related communications projects for the department. Writes and edits all educational materials to include communications with members, clients, agents, internal associates, healthcare providers and other groups. Responsible for the design and layout of publications or may work with designers to come up with concepts for design/ layout of publications. Analyzes member impact lists and departmental drug lists to ensure accuracy and quality are maintained. Develops and maintains policy and procedures for Pharmacy area as a result of contract directives and/ or internal audits. Facilitates compliance with all applicable state and federal regulatory and accreditation requirements. Supports pharmacy sales, retention and internal educational efforts. Tracks, analyzes and reports all activities to senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in a job related field
  • 5 years experience in healthcare or insurance industry.
  • Experience to include 2 years related project management and health communications, health product marketing or related experience (may be concurrent with the 5 years).
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and make sound decisions.
  • Good judgment skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
  • Ability to persuade, negotiate, or influence others.

  • Prior PBM Knowledge and Pharmacy experience

Responsibilities

  • Develops various internal/external communication materials for the company /subsidiaries/subscribers, etc regarding pharmacy clinical program implementations and/or changes including clinical management strategies.
  • Implements and oversees communication project plans for multiple lines of business and subsidiaries.
  • Ensures communication materials are reviewed and approved by functional areas and meet corporate writing standards as well as compliance with BCA Branding rules.
  • Manages and updates content on division’s internal and/or external Web sites.
  • Analyzes member impact data received to ensure accuracy and compliance with customized programs, as appropriate.
  • Works closely with internal and PBM pharmacists to learn program details and ensure timely and accurate update of drug lists and drug program materials.
  • Contributes to communications strategy development.
  • Serves as one of the department’s subject matter experts and communications liaison between Pharmacy Management and other departments by responding to inquiries from marketing, customer service and UM areas about how our programs work.
  • Provides accurate information and collaterals to support internal and external constituents.
  • Conducts training for internal departments and lines of business on upcoming pharmacy changes.
  • Supports pharmacy sales and retention activities to include preparation of presentation materials and collaterals.
  • Implements pharmacy communications activities for new groups and current groups that adding drug management programs.
  • Develops, maintains, interprets and implements policy and procedures changes for Pharmacy Management as a result of contract directives and/ /or internal audits.
  • Facilitates compliance with all applicable state and federal regulatory and URAC accreditation requirements.
