This role will initially lead the establishment and ramp-up of engineering at a large, high-volume, cutting-edge automotive manufacturing operation. On an ongoing basis, the Specialist, Parts Management will establish strong team member relations, provide support for people development, coaching, and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion. This role will collaborate with Japanese team members from Mazda and Toyota, and work cross-functionally with manufacturing/conveyance Team Members to ensure on-time delivery of parts to production. The Specialist will monitor and evaluate supplier performance from the United States, Mexico, Canada, and Japan, and will be responsible for the daily monitoring of component parts flow and adjusting inventory levels to achieve appropriate inventory levels on the Shop floor, identifying and acting on abnormalities within the supply chain. This role will also be involved in crisis management and coordination with all internal and external supply chain stakeholders, lead problem-solving efforts to countermeasure and mitigate the impact of abnormal supply chain conditions, and support new model launches and shutdown coordination activities. Additionally, the Specialist will contribute to and support annual business plans and strategies to support Mazda Toyota Manufacturing priorities and support change point management activities impacting production and production systems. The role requires the ability to work and travel outside of typical business hours when needed (domestically and internationally).
