About The Position

The Specialist – Outreach and Recruitment supports Goodwill San Antonio's Workforce Development Unit and is responsible for representing Goodwill Workforce Development programs and services at various community events, developing community referral partners, and connecting potential participants with the Goodwill Program that meets the participants needs. Goodwill San Antonio's Workforce Programs focus on Career training, Job placement, Reentry Services, and/or Opportunity Youth. This position supports the overall Mission of Goodwill To help Change lives through the power of work by connecting individuals to training opportunities and job placement supports.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree.
  • Equivalent work experience will be accepted in lieu of education.
  • 1-3 years experience in non-profit, social services, workforce development, career school or other related fields.
  • Experience in customer services and/or client engagement with at risk populations a plus.
  • Experience in education, career training, or job placement services a plus.
  • Skilled in communicating verbally and writing effectively; skilled in organizing and presenting material.
  • Experience in workforce development and community partnerships is preferred.
  • Must maintain flexibility regarding work availability and hours to support program needs.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Upholds and models Goodwill's mission, core values, and servant leadership philosophy.
  • Assist the program manager with developing a strategic and equitable outreach plan.
  • Effectively implements outreach and recruitment plan, meeting agency and program outreach and intake targets monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Identifies and seeks opportunities to incorporate participant voice and involvement in outreach activities when appropriate.
  • Tracks outreach efforts and monitors rates of return specific to various modes of efforts; flyers, events, referrals, and other communication streams.
  • Prepares and presents program presentations with the goal of informing and recruiting participants to program.
  • Represent and encourage program participation at public events, community resource fairs, career fairs, and community meetings.
  • Develop and maintain referral streams with community stakeholders and partners
  • Maintain knowledge of education, training, and employment opportunities available to eligible participants.
  • Maintain an up-to-date list of community stakeholders and primary points of contact.
  • Collaborate with partner organizations to align the outreach plan and overall program efforts.
  • Support program events related to education, training, and employment.
  • Maintain flexibility regarding work availability and hours to support representing program at various community events that align with program's target population.
  • Follow up with individuals who no-show intakes and/or expressed interest but did not follow through with program enrollment.
  • Accommodate business needs and objectives, other duties may be assigned by leadership.
