About The Position

This role provides back-office support for branches and departments, performing services related to deposit operations under the supervision of senior staff. The position requires a "Voyaging Spirit" and a "Positively Ohana" approach, emphasizing core competencies such as positive customer interactions, empowerment, ownership, active listening, effective communication, action and solution orientation, and thoroughness.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency required.
  • Specialist I: 1+ years of banking operation experience, including knowledge of bank products, services and documentation.
  • Specialist II: 2+ years of banking operation experience, including knowledge of bank products, services and documentation.
  • Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items including but not limited to boxes, files and papers up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to operate and proficiently use standard office equipment, including phone, copier, personal computer and/or other work-related mechanical or electronic devices and applications.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions and interactions.
  • Must be able to read and understand bank-related documents.
  • Must be able to work in a conventional office setting, involving sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to adapt to different work environments as needed to perform the job.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day back-office operations, including deposit product maintenance, monetary processing, return items, compliance-related items, lockbox, micrographics, legal processing, and ACH processing.
  • Research and resolve back-office operational problems with minimal assistance.
  • Monitor and coordinate all processes related to deposit operations processing.
  • Communicate and follow up with department-related initiatives as directed by supervisors and/or managers.
  • Assist with resolving internal and external customer problems and complaints with the highest quality of customer service.
  • Maintain individual KPI logs.
  • Provide input on procedure updates as required.
  • Research and resolve deposit operations issues.
  • Ensure knowledge of compliance with state and federal laws, rules, and regulations, and the bank’s policies and procedures.
