About The Position

BHP's Maintenance and Engineering Centre of Excellence (MECoE) is a dedicated, innovative team focused on identifying, achieving, and maintaining the highest standards in maintenance for BHP globally. This role will utilize innovative approaches, tools, and technology to add real value to teams, setting new standards to guide improvement activity, transforming services, and supporting people. The challenge ahead involves improving how equipment is maintained through core processes of maintenance strategy development, governance, optimisation, and product management. This role requires interfacing with other Functions across the business, Operational leadership teams, and other sub-functions within the MECoE. Effective communication, engagement, and influence at all levels, fostering a collaborative environment, and the ability to travel are essential.

  • Understanding of how the maintenance ecosystem works with Engineering, Projects and Operations.
  • Tertiary or trade qualification in, preferably Electrical or Mechanical.
  • Adaptive to change and demonstrate the ability to prioritise and effectively manage multiple deliverables across stakeholders.
  • Focus on continuous improvement and passionate about delivering exceptional results.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise with Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) including FMECA, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Asset Performance Management (APM), Downtime Accounting Systems (DAS) and CMMS systems (e.g. 1SAP).

Responsibilities

  • Improve the way equipment is maintained through core processes of maintenance strategy development, governance, optimisation and product management.
  • Interface with other Functions across the business, Operational leadership teams and with the other sub-functions within the Maintenance and Engineering Centre of Excellence.
  • Effectively communicate, engage and influence at all levels.
  • Foster a collaborative environment.
  • Engage with equipment OEMs around potential product issues leveraging global contractual agreements and specifically product defect remediation clauses.
