This role is responsible for providing circulation support services within the campus library. The Specialist, Library performs library work of a moderately complex nature, provides circulation services including organization of library materials, maintains circulation records and prepares reports as necessary, and organizes reserve items. This position answers moderately complex questions, refers questions to a librarian when appropriate, and locates materials including databases and electronic resources for students and faculty. The Specialist, Library provides check-in and check-out services as well as properly shelving library materials, effectively uses an automated circulation system, and develops an extensive working knowledge of library services, policies, and practices, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, policies, and procedures. The role communicates library services, policies, and practices to students, faculty, and staff, performs advanced library operational skills, manages technical matters and human relations issues, and maintains operational reports and makes reports as requested. Additionally, the Specialist, Library attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite, and completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC). This role supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College.
