The Compliance Paralegal supports the Legal and Compliance department by administering key compliance processes; responding to regulatory and customer inquiries; evaluating and assessing compliance risks and issues; handling records management and legal requests. This role helps ensure organizational compliance with internal policies, legal requirements, and operational standards through monitoring, analysis, reporting, and coordination with internal stakeholders. The Compliance Paralegal also assists with policy implementation, training support, and process improvement initiatives within the compliance program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, law, real estate, or commensurate experience, and / or paralegal certificate
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in lease administration or in a legal or real estate-related function
  • Proficiency with digital workflow tools, particularly lease administration software (e.g., Visual Lease), and capacity to manage a database and maintain a high volume of database records
  • Demonstrated aptitude to independently manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment through effective prioritization of tasks, organization, and attention to detail; along with the ability to work as part of a team, learn from others, and collaborate with different stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in supporting the preparation of legal documents, including leases, contracts, amendments, and communication materials (preferred)s
  • Understanding of basic real estate, finance, and accounting concepts (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and abstract key lease information; maintain and update critical lease and location-level records; monitor significant lease event dates; and provide associated reporting, as required, to stakeholders throughout the company
  • Assist in the execution of vital property management activities, including helping to resolve matters connected to lease negotiations, occupancy, zoning, and other management and administration issues
  • Support the drafting, reviewing, and processing of lease agreements, amendments, renewals, and related obligations (e.g., insurance certificates)
  • Coordinate and liaise with the Accounting team to facilitate completion of crucial financial tasks such as rent reconciliation, rent payment, subtenant rent payment, and TI allowance collections
  • Perform clerical tasks including document filing, scanning, compiling, and mailing
  • Prepare contractor and consultant authorizations for environmental construction and remediation projects
