The Specialist, Landing Gear Maintenance, will be responsible for ensuring that TechOps Landing Gear Maintenance requirements are optimized and met for present and future needs, ensuring landing gear maintenance is within budget while keeping high standards of reliability and safety.

Requirements

  • University degree in a relevant field.
  • 10+ years of related Airline, MRO, manufacturing or equivalent experience.
  • In-depth knowledge with landing gear remanufacturing processes.
  • Hand-on experience with landing gears in a shop environment.
  • Strong focus on continuous improvement and achievement of objectives while maintaining a positive and productive working relationship within and outside the work group.
  • Ability to plan and manage time, money and other resources to achieve goals.
  • Superior planning and organization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong sense of initiative and creativity.
  • Basic knowledge of most commonly used PC software.
  • Familiar with a variety of industry’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Leads and directs the work of others.
  • Must be knowledgeable and have experience with planning and forecasting systems.
  • Excellent analytical abilities.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and control cross functional business processes related to vendor management and the entire product life cycle (repair cycle to / from vendors, component reliability, financial reporting).
  • Operationalize new vendor repair contracts.
  • Manage landing gear inventory exchange, sale, purchase and/or lease.
  • Manage vendor relationship and performance.
  • Manage and optimize the landing gear budget.
  • Lead quarterly and/or annual business review meetings with all landing gear vendors.
  • Lead and support Vendor Support Manager and other team members.
  • Manage landing gear maintenance vendors to ensure optimal quality of services are rendered and in line with service agreements.
  • Provide business, financial and analytical leadership and support to all areas of business development including own team members.
  • Have accountability for and demonstrate actual performance against goals on a regular basis on behalf of the Corporation.
  • Set clear directions and achievable objectives in line with our business direction.
  • Stay current of industry best practices to drive changes or transition to new business strategies in order to minimize cost and improve efficiency of vendors.
  • Be able to create strong rapport with internal and external customers to create and deliver a quality product and services to meet and exceed expectations.
