About The Position

Guitar Center Distribution Center is looking for an International Logistics Specialist to support the International Team by managing all inbound international shipments and ensuring a continuous flow of information and movement of freight between vendors, service providers, internal teams, and Enterprise Distribution Centers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including strong Microsoft Excel skills, required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to interact effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal partners.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and efficiency in data entry and reporting.
  • Demonstrated reliability, initiative, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • college degree preferred
  • International Logistics industry experience with knowledge of Incoterms, Customs and Border Protection Regulations preferred.
  • Microsoft Access experience strongly preferred, with the ability to work with large datasets and databases.
  • Familiarity with WMS and TMS (PKMS / e2Open / Smart Info / JDA) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and approve inbound international shipments, ensuring shipping requirements are met.
  • Manage international logistics reporting and metrics utilizing both Excel and Access Data tables.
  • Update and maintain Access databases containing status of international logistics shipments.
  • Prepare and distribute various logistics reports while ensuring data integrity.
  • Review commercial documents and bills of lading to ensure they are complete and meet US Customs requirements.
  • Coordinate and communicate container manifest and shipping information to drayage companies and distribution center facilities.
  • Enter container and purchase order information into TMS and PKMS system.
  • Review OS&Ds when presented by the warehouse and resolve in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate all inbound Canadian border crossings; approvals to ship, document accuracy, and facilitate domestic receiving.
  • Assist with auditing ocean carrier, brokerage, and drayage invoices for accuracy.

  • Assist with other Logistics or Distribution Center projects as needed.
