About The Position

L3Harris is seeking a Hardware Test Engineer to support production testing of high-speed avionics open architecture chassis. The role applies electronic theory, electrical-circuit principles, and electrical testing procedures to test and troubleshoot component-level microprocessor-based digital circuitry, including discrete components, BGAs, CGAs, and fiber-optic components. The engineer leads and trains test technicians performing component troubleshooting; collects test data; generates required test reports; and determines root causes and corrective actions for failure trends. The role also requires understanding, properly using, and maintaining test sets and test equipment. The engineer implements operational strategies for assigned factory programs to meet cost, quality, delivery, customer satisfaction, environmental, health and safety (EHS), and continuous-improvement objectives, and drives key program, factory, and department initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of prior relevant experience; or a graduate degree and at least 2 years of prior related experience; or, in lieu of a degree, at least 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience reading schematics.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 32 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation; team lifting or mechanical assistance must be used when required by established safety procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings or schematics to perform work duties.
  • Ability to work under direct supervision using prescribed processes and procedures.
  • Experience working directly with engineers to optimize test processes and procedures.
  • Lean, continuous-improvement mindset.
