About The Position

The Fast Pass Tag & Title Specialist II is responsible for providing general office support with a variety of clerical activities, financial tasks, and technical tasks related to Motor Vehicle Title and Registration Transactions, Driver’s License Transactions and Reinstatement Transactions, including but not limited to tax collection, expedited titles, and inventory will be part of the operations. This role involves processing motor vehicle titles and registration, driver’s license, and reinstatement transactions, receiving payments, accepting tax payments, and filing appropriate documentation. The specialist will also enter and retrieve information from the computer, answer a multi-line phone system, perform research on business websites, examine and verify documents, prepare documents, enter data into the Department of Public Safety system, execute daily cash-out and balancing processes, scan and save processed transactions, and prepare daily and monthly reports. Team members with notary commission may also perform courier duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Previous OMV, automotive registration, or dealer motor vehicle title experience for minimum of 2 to 4 years.
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point, and SharePoint.
  • Must apply and be approved by the OMV background check processed by Louisiana State Police including a clean driving record.
  • In Depth proficient knowledge to process all services and processes within an efficient production level with minimum error ratio.
  • Technical Capacity: must be computer, database, and spreadsheet proficient with the ability to learn and use a computer program quickly, efficiently, and consistently.
  • Critical Thinking: must be able to accurately complete daily transactions and exercise discretion and independent judgement in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision yet recognize when to ask for assistance from the designated support team.

Nice To Haves

  • State of Louisiana commissioned Notary preferred, with statewide jurisdiction, a plus (must be in good standing with the Louisiana Secretary of State).

Responsibilities

  • Follow standard protocol for all state regulations regarding vehicle transactions, driver’s license transactions and reinstatement transactions including, but not limited to, policies and procedures for: Processing motor vehicle titles and registration, driver’s license and reinstatement transactions and services.
  • Receive payments for motor vehicle titles and registrations, driver’s license, and reinstatement services.
  • Accept tax payments and file appropriate documentation for all provided and processed.
  • Enter and retrieve information from the computer, answer a multi-line phone system, and follow up with phone calls to customers when necessary.
  • Perform research on designated business websites to successfully complete job-related transactions.
  • Examine, proofread, and verify all documents submitted by the customer for all transactions for motor vehicle titles and registrations, driver’s license, and reinstatement to determine authenticity.
  • Prepare documents related to vehicle titles and registrations, driver’s license, and reinstatement.
  • Enter data from the required document for motor vehicle, driver’s license, and reinstatement transactions into the Department of Public Safety, Office of Motor Vehicle system to print vehicle registrations, driver’s license, or clearance letter for completion.
  • Execute the daily cash-out process and daily balancing process.
  • Scan and save all processed transactions in the Office of Motor Vehicles imaging system as record for microfilm.
  • Prepare daily reports for submission to the Office of Motor Vehicles.
  • Process, verify, and complete monthly report for inventory of license plates, forms, driver’s license ribbons and cards.
  • Team members with notary commission must follow all state regulations and be diligent in verification of identity and documentation.
  • Team members may be required to perform the duties of courier, that includes the delivery and pick up of documentation, registration, and license plates from clients within the region and additional runs required for daily operations.
