About The Position

The Specialist, Higher Education Partnerships, will join FoundationCCC in its mission of benefiting, supporting, and enhancing the California Community Colleges. This role supports meaningful connections between students and employers in California through work-based learning and support services, aiming to bring relevancy and real-world experience to students by growing the quantity and quality of work-based learning opportunities. The position focuses on program development and technical assistance for initiatives expanding pre-apprenticeships and registered apprenticeships in the Inland Empire region, addressing disparities in the labor market. The Specialist will provide programmatic and outreach support to a local community college district, industry employers, government agencies, and funders, supporting apprenticeship programming across various instructional delivery models.

Requirements

  • Relevant BA/BS, equivalent work experience, or a combination of both.
  • Minimum of three (3) + years of related work experience in workforce development, apprenticeship/ pre-apprenticeship, or community college, preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) + years of experience in an education or non-profit environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and registration of new apprenticeship programs in partnership with industry, labor organizations, and college stakeholders, and Career Technical Education (CTE) faculty and administrators.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of apprenticeship programs, including participant onboarding, documentation, reporting, data entry, and records management.
  • Interpret and apply relevant California Education Code, Labor Code, Title 5 regulations, and apprenticeship standards to ensure compliance with state and federal apprenticeship requirements.
