Requirements

  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Must have extensive knowledge of the ADEM regulatory compliance as well as Air, Storm and Wastewater requirements
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate well to a wide range of constituents (including production area, engineers, leadership, and regulatory authorities)
  • Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Research methods, techniques, and/or sources of information.
  • Principles, theories, and practices of Performance Management.
  • Principles, theories and practices of Project Management.
  • Principles, theories and practices of Corporate Management Systems (Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental, Corporate Governance, Corporate Citizenship, etc; Establishment, Auditing Principles, and Certification Requirements of CMS).
  • Must be willing to work extended or flexible hours as needed to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all Environmental Health & Safety policies and procedures are adhered to by all Team Members
  • Follow and comply with all operational procedures/policies as stated in the employee Environmental Health and Safety programs
  • Follows and supports Magna’s operating principles, including:

  • Abide by Kamtek policies and procedures as described in the most current version of the Employee Handbook.

  • Attend and participate in Team, Department, Plant-wide and any other meetings as required.
  • Conduct all activities in a professional manner and positive attitude with an emphasis on personal responsibility.
  • Make studies and analyses of Environmental incidents causes and risks for use by company personnel and outside agencies.
  • Utilizes Risk Assessments to develop systems and procedures that reduce risk of potential and severity of environmental incidents or non-conformances.
  • Reviews and updates Environmental policies and procedures to be followed by company or plant personnel in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • Consults with all departments on design and use of equipment, shops, fire prevention and safety program.
  • Inspects or tours organization facilities to detect existing or potential environmental as well as accident and health hazards and recommend corrective or preventative measures where indicated.
  • Keeps managers and employees alerted as to the hazards of working with dangerous chemicals, and any other hazardous substances.
  • Participates in the investigation of incidents, accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.
  • Compiles and submits accidents reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • May be asked to Support the administration of workers’ compensation program.
  • Devises, supervises, and coordinates training programs or media which will increase proficiency in environmental and support safe practices.
  • Represents the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs.
  • Maintains environmental files and records.
  • Verify, maintain & follow up on both internal & external corrective actions and monitor/follow up on continuous improvement activities.
  • Oversee consultant activities as needed and coordinate ISO 14001 certification audits.
  • Ensures compliance with all environmental rules, policies and permits.
  • Perform other duties as required.
