About The Position

CES Power is seeking a strategic and hands-on Environment, Health & Safety Specialist (EHS) to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's safety, health, environmental, and regulatory compliance programs. This role is responsible for building and maintaining a world-class safety culture across all company operations, including power generation, vehicle transportation, warehouse operations, fleet distribution, setup & repair, and job site operations from load in to load out. The EHS Specialist will partner closely with operational leaders, project managers and account managers to foster a proactive safety culture that protects employees, customers, contractors, and company assets. The successful candidate will have a strong background in occupational safety, risk management, environmental compliance, incident prevention, and leadership in a multi-site, multi-state, operational environment.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field.
8+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience.
Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, and environmental regulations.
Experience supporting field operations, transportation, fleet management, construction, industrial services, energy, utilities, or related industries.
Demonstrated success building and leading safety programs across multiple locations.
Proven experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analyses.
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Ability to travel up to 50-60% as business needs require.
Ability to visit active job sites, warehouses, service centers, and customer locations.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments and travel extensively when required.

Nice To Haves

Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
OSHA Outreach Trainer Certification.
Experience within power generation, temporary power, utilities, event services, industrial equipment rental, or energy services industries.
Experience managing DOT compliance and fleet safety programs.

Responsibilities

Lead the company's overall EHS strategy and safety management system.
Develop and promote a culture where safety is a core value and operational excellence standard.
Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership regarding EHS risks, trends, and opportunities.
Establish measurable safety goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Drive accountability for safety performance at all levels of the organization, creating safety leaders across the US operations of the company including building a national cohort of local safety leaders.
Champion employee engagement, safety recognition, and behavioral safety initiatives.
Travel to regional buildings and various job sites across the country to highlight the importance of a safety culture, collaborating with people in the field to identify proactive ways to improve safety in our work processes and equipment.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, state environmental agencies, and other applicable regulations.
Maintain corporate policies, procedures, and programs related to workplace safety and environmental compliance.
Monitor regulatory changes and proactively implement required operational adjustments.
Coordinate and manage regulatory inspections, audits, and reporting requirements.
Oversee hazardous materials management, spill prevention, waste handling, and environmental compliance activities.
Identify operational risks and implement effective controls to reduce incidents and liability.
Lead enterprise risk assessments across field operations, warehouses, service centers, transportation activities, and event sites.
Develop and implement Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Safe Work Practices, and standard operating procedures.
Evaluate contractor safety programs and ensure third-party compliance with company standards.
Act as the central point of contact for coordinating post incident actions (regardless of level from a near miss to recordable incident), including directing next steps via coordinated group email to ensure the appropriate level of documentation is obtained, screenings are conducted in a timely manner, and lessons learned are conducted.
Monitor trends and recommend preventive measures to reduce incident frequency and severity.
Maintain accurate incident reporting and workers' compensation management processes in partnership with Human Resources.
When necessary, advise leadership on recommended training and corrective action that are appropriate for the end goal of improving and prioritizing a culture of safety.
Develop and oversee EHS training programs for employees, supervisors, and leadership teams.
Ensure compliance with required certifications and safety training requirements.
Conduct management coaching on safety leadership and accountability.
Facilitate emergency response, crisis management, and preparedness training.
Hold weekly micro-trainings and collaboration meetings.
Develop executive-level dashboards and reporting metrics.
Analyze safety performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
Lead internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Benchmark company performance against industry best practices.
