About The Position

The Specialist, Group Sales will work with all group clients from their initial inquiry to prospecting them for future business. This role involves driving sales, building lasting client relationships, and planning and executing events in Whistler. The ideal candidate is passionate about sales, has a knack for event planning, and is eager to make a meaningful impact.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Strong event planning skills, including the ability to manage logistics, timelines, and budgets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with a passion for success.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a Tourism Whistler and Whistler.com ambassador, living our purpose and vision with passion & energy, achievement and respect.
  • Proactively identify and engage potential clients, presenting our products/services with enthusiasm and expertise.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with both new and existing clients.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and offer tailored solutions, including event planning and coordination.
  • Coordinate and participate in site inspections for clients.
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales targets, contributing to overall business growth.
  • Work closely with the operations and finance teams to ensure event planning, customer satisfaction, and financial reconciliation.
  • Work closely with the Tourism Whistler Conference Sales team to facilitate transportation and activity bookings for their delegates.
  • Conduct market research to stay up-to-date with industry trends and identify new opportunities.
  • Provide excellent customer service throughout the sales and event planning process.
  • Produce time sensitive quotes for high value clients with diverse needs.
  • Coordinate with resort partners to reduce barriers for large groups.
