About The Position

The Association for Individual Development (AID) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower people with physical, developmental, intellectual, mental health challenges, those who have suffered a trauma, and those at risk to enjoy lives of dignity and purpose. We are looking for a IT & Billing specialist who exemplifies that mission, and wants to work for an organization that makes a difference. The EHR Billing Specialist will oversee the organization’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, ensuring the overall quality, performance, and effective use across the organization. The role also monitors ongoing implementation efforts and works to continuously improve EHR processes and workflows. The position also performs job related special projects as requested by the Associate Vice President – Information Technology and Billing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with general office courses required
  • 1 or 2 years of IT or Billing Experience preferred
  • Ability to do computer data entry in large volumes accurately, efficiently and timely.
  • Ability to climb stairs to retrieve old client records
  • Competency with word processing, spreadsheets and database software.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, computer, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of the team.
  • Knowledge of State, Federal and AID regulations/rules/policies and procedures.
  • Attend in-service trainings, as required
  • Interact with clients, staff and visitors in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Automobile liability insurance sufficient to meet minimum requirements as defined in AID’s Personnel Policies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor Electronic Health Record
  • Serve as a liaison between staff and the software vendor to address issues and improve EHR
  • Log and manage support tickets with the software vendor for system issues and enhancements
  • Communicate with staff to reinforce proper EHR documentation and workflow practices
  • Provide reminders and guidance to staff to ensure accurate and compliant use of the EHR system
  • Develop expertise in EHR billing processes to ensure accurate claims submission and reduce billing rejections
  • Input and update information in the Electronic Health Record system.
  • Maintain knowledge of managed care organizations, including their billing guidelines, authorization requirements, and payer-specific rules.
  • Provide assistance to the BH Billing Administrator and the DD Billing Specialist with billing operations and related projects
  • Develop the ability to create dashboards and reports within the EHR system to support staff operations
  • Deliver training and guidance to staff on EHR system functionality and best practices
