About The Position

Cleanpart USA is seeking an experienced and proactive Safety Specialist to lead and support workplace safety initiatives that foster an injury-free culture. This role is responsible for implementing, managing, and continuously improving safety programs that protect employees, customers, contractors, and company assets. The Safety Specialist will serve as a key resource in regulatory compliance, occupational safety, process safety management, incident investigation, risk assessment, and employee training. The ideal candidate is a collaborative safety professional with strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for creating and sustaining a safe work environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in an industrial safety, EHS, or related role.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety practices.
  • Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and safety management software.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 30-Hour certification.
  • CHST, CSP, HAZWOPER (40-Hour), or other relevant safety certifications.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001, OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP/STAR), and Safety Management Systems.
  • Understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) principles.
  • Experience with root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Arizona state and Phoenix local safety regulations.
  • Experience using DNV or similar EHS software platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, DOT, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and communicate impacts and compliance requirements to leadership.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and improve safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Support and monitor the Management of Change (MOC) process.
  • Conduct hazard assessments and risk analyses to identify and mitigate workplace risks.
  • Perform routine safety inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Support the development, review, and maintenance of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) for all applicable job tasks.
  • Recommend and implement corrective actions to improve workplace safety.
  • Deliver safety training programs covering topics such as: OSHA compliance, Emergency response, Hazard communication, PPE requirements, Safe work practices, Environmental stewardship.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through employee engagement and behavioral safety initiatives.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, injuries, and near misses.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure timely reporting and documentation in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate OSHA logs and safety records.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Coordinate emergency drills and preparedness training.
  • Support site readiness for emergency situations.
  • Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS), safety signage, and safety documentation.
  • Monitor safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) programs.
  • Ensure proper availability, maintenance, and usage of safety-related equipment.
  • Collect, analyze, and report leading and lagging safety indicators.
  • Prepare safety performance reports for leadership and regulatory agencies.
  • Identify trends and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety performance.
  • Champion best practices and innovative safety solutions.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Human Resources, and other departments to integrate safety into business processes.
  • Support contractor and vendor safety management, including audits and compliance reviews.
  • Assist with safety budget planning and resource allocation for EHS initiatives.

Benefits

  • The salary range for this position is $95,300 - $119,100.00.
  • Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.
  • This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
