This position, under the direction of the Director, Early Childhood Special Education, focuses on planning, coordinating, and implementing infant and preschool support services. The role involves providing District-wide assistance and support on early childhood special education issues, offering instructional leadership, and contributing to professional development. Key responsibilities include assisting in eligibility determination, service planning, and providing instructional and behavioral services in compliance with mandates. The Specialist will also supervise and evaluate itinerant staff, analyze data to guide training, and coordinate with service centers on early childhood special education matters, including the transition to kindergarten. Additionally, the role involves coaching leadership staff, providing technical assistance to administrators and teachers, supervising the DRDP assessment system, and responding to parent and community inquiries. Other duties as assigned.
