About The Position

This position provides expertise to the Education Department and the Early Childhood Education Program as a supervising preschool teacher in the ECE Lab Program. The position is responsible to oversee the implementation of a model laboratory children’s program for the assigned age group, with the purpose of optimizing CSN student experience in the laboratory setting and providing a model of best practice in early education for children and families within the community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 years of direct Teaching Experience.
  • Must be able to lift a small child (up to fifty pounds) and carry it for a short distance.
  • Must be able to get up and down from a sitting position on the floor.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and participate in the same types of activities with children.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
  • May require travel to other campuses and/or locations.
  • As needed, work outside of normal working days/hours to meet the Department or customer needs.
  • Possible exposure to body fluids and blood borne pathogens.

Responsibilities

  • Children’s program implementation for assigned age group (planning, oversight, family involvement, communication and education, children’s assessment and service coordination with agency specialists).
  • CSN student engagement; guidance, oversight, and feedback to CSN faculty regarding student progress and coursework.
  • Direct supervision and mentoring of Child Care Workers, Student Workers, Interns, and volunteers.
  • Ongoing and annual program evaluation and assessment.
  • Achieving and maintaining NAEYC accreditation for assigned area.
  • Achieving High Quality through QRIS Rating System.
