This role will be based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC or Novi, Michigan. This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time. Travel: Occasional domestic and international travel required to meet with colleagues, suppliers, and external partners. Valid driver's license required. Passport required; global travel readiness is expected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, Software Development or a closely related technical discipline
  • 4+ years of professional experience in the automotive or manufacturing sector
  • Expertise in software procurement and/or electronic component sourcing
  • Demonstrated capability in high‑stakes negotiation, particularly with monopoly suppliers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are considered an advantage
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook and MS Teams
  • Solid understanding of the Automotive industry, including its processes, standards, and regulatory considerations
  • Familiarity with autonomous driving technologies and connected vehicle systems
  • High integrity, professional maturity, and commitment to company values

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic procurement of automotive software, electronic components and LV/HV wire harness assemblies
  • Conduct detailed cost analyses, implement cost‑reduction programs, and support financial optimization initiatives
  • Manage contract negotiations and pricing discussions with suppliers, including those operating in monopoly markets
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional departments including Engineering, Software Development, Quality, and Program Management
  • Support projects and advancements related to autonomous driving, vehicle connectivity, and emerging automotive technologies
  • Coordinate supplier performance management, evaluate technological capabilities, and ensure adherence to procurement policies and quality standards
  • Participate in periodic travel for internal alignment, supplier meetings, and company‑related events (domestic and international)
