This role is crucial for ensuring the trustworthiness of Hard Rock Digital's reporting, which spans various tools and platforms. The Specialist will own the standard for reporting by defining data, establishing a certification process, and implementing a governance framework to ensure data accuracy and meaning. Initially, for the first 12 to 18 months, the role will lead the migration of existing reporting from platforms like Salesforce and Tableau to ADAM, our Snowflake-native analytics platform, enhancing visualization standards. This foundational work will build the necessary institutional knowledge for ongoing data governance. Subsequently, data governance will become the core, ongoing function, establishing a framework for the BI Operations team and maturing into a shared responsibility.

Requirements

Best-in-class visualization skill with an eye for clarity and usability across multiple platforms.
Strong understanding of underlying data structure and modeling to determine appropriate platforms and formats.
Ability to reconstruct reporting logic cleanly in different systems.
3-6 years in BI or analytics with hands-on dashboard-building experience across multiple platforms.
Solid SQL skills for tracing and validating data lineage.
Comfortable owning a large, ambiguous modernization effort and making informed decisions.
Strong written communication skills for explaining complex data logic.
Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Business, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Nice To Haves

Direct experience building or reading Salesforce-native reporting.
Familiarity with Snowflake or a similar cloud data warehouse.
Experience with data governance frameworks, data dictionaries, or certification processes in a BI context.
Exposure to lightweight or self-serve reporting tools (e.g., Streamlit).
Experience in iGaming, online sportsbook, casino, or another regulated digital industry.

Responsibilities

Own the data governance framework for ADAM: standards, naming conventions, definitions, documentation, and the certification process.
Act as the certification gate for new data while the framework is being established, partnering with the BI Ops team to review, validate, and certify new metrics, dimensions, or tables.
Maintain data lineage documentation to trace data origins, calculations, and certification status.
Monitor the health of the data environment, identify data drift, flag upstream changes affecting downstream reporting, and maintain trust in the platform.
Partner with the data engineering team on schema changes, new source integrations, and pipeline updates affecting the reporting layer.
Partner with BI Operations leadership to define the transition of governance responsibility to the broader team.
Evaluate reporting across all platforms (Salesforce, Tableau, etc.) and determine the optimal destination and format in ADAM.
Migrate eligible reporting into ADAM, ensuring datasets land in the most appropriate location.
Improve and consolidate reporting by identifying and addressing overlap and redundancy.
Build migrated reports to a best-in-class visualization standard with clear documentation.
Identify data gaps or modeling issues and translate them into actionable requests for the data engineering team.
Run stakeholder reviews and sign-offs on migrated reports before retiring legacy versions.
Recognize when a tool is being used inappropriately and propose better-fit alternatives.
