About The Position

Nationwide is seeking a Customer Data Targeting Lead to join their Customer Experience Center of Excellence. This role will focus on using data to shape customer experiences and drive personalized, timely, and impactful customer communications. The lead will partner with business, marketing, and technical teams to translate customer data and insights into actionable strategies for awareness, engagement, and retention. The position involves designing and delivering data for personalized communications across various channels, streamlining audience data flow, collaborating cross-functionally, championing customer-centricity, and driving continuous improvement in data tools, processes, and governance. The role requires a strategic mindset, experience translating business requirements into technical solutions, comfort with ambiguity, and a passion for learning. Preferred technical skills include experience with SQL, Teradata, Databricks, data visualization tools, and customer data platforms.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate studies with post graduate studies preferred.
  • Typically 3 or more years related experience with SAS, SPSS and other statistical software.
  • Experience with problem solving in a business environment; working with large customer and/or prospect databases; working with product, geographic, demographic data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Advanced knowledge of PC based spreadsheet, business intelligence and database warehousing applications.
  • Proven excellence in problem solving, analytical, research and quantitative analysis skills, and analytical working techniques including: regression, decision trees, multivariate analysis, etc.
  • Verbal and written communication skills for interaction with client, work teams, vendors and associates.
  • Proficiency in developing ad hoc queries using SQL.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SQL and tools like Teradata or Databricks highly preferred
  • Familiarity with data visualization and storytelling tools.
  • Experience with customer data platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver data that powers personalized customer communications across channels (email, text, digital, direct mail)
  • Streamline and standardize how audience data flows across systems to improve efficiency and impact
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, analytics, and technology teams to ensure seamless execution and alignment.
  • Champion customer-centricity, ensuring all audience data solutions are designed with the customer in mind
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing enhancements to data tools, processes, and governance.
  • Responsible for managing workstreams of projects designed to deliver analytic and operational capabilities and solutions.
  • Assists with the development of business processes and system functional, non-functional and information requirements
  • Responsible for providing input to business decisions for the project.
  • Assists with the coordination of the Business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
  • Documents stakeholder needs and business objectives, expectations and assumptions aligned with workstream/project/capability
  • Helps facilitate business implementation planning sessions
  • Facilitates post implementation checkpoint with business units to ensure best in class solutions are implemented
  • Ensures appropriate communication/training/reporting is documented
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
