About The Position

As Corporate Storyteller Specialist, you’ll become part of the team that is set to reimagine the iconic Scout brand and disrupt the American pickup truck and rugged SUV marketplace. Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Communications, you'll help bring the Scout Motors story to life through thoughtful, engaging, and authentic storytelling and content that connects with employees, future customers, candidates, and the communities we serve. Working across Corporate Communications, Brand & Design, Human Resources, Production, Commercial Operations, and Executive Leadership, you'll develop compelling content that informs, inspires, and reinforces who we are as a company. From executive messaging, speeches, and internal communications to employer brand storytelling and customer communications, you'll help shape a consistent voice for Scout Motors across a wide variety of channels and audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of professional writing experience in corporate communications, copywriting, journalism, content strategy, marketing communications, or a related field.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a portfolio demonstrating versatility across multiple formats and audiences.
  • Ability to translate complex business topics into clear, engaging, and accessible content.
  • Strong interviewing and storytelling skills with the ability to uncover meaningful stories from across an organization.
  • Experience writing for executive leaders and adapting messaging for different audiences and communication channels.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and familiarity with modern communications and collaboration tools.
  • Familiarity with AP Style and corporate editorial standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience writing for manufacturing, automotive, technology, consumer brands, or other complex organizations.
  • Experience collaborating with creative teams, video production, and digital content development.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth, or startup environment.
  • Experience developing employer brand or culture-focused storytelling.
  • Experience with Adobe design tools and/or Canva is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Compelling Copywriting: Partner closely with cross-functional teams, subject-matter exports, and leaders to write and edit clear, engaging, high-quality communications across a range of channels and formats.
  • External Communications: Create copy for email campaigns, social media posts, Scout Stories blogs, and digital/print ads that bring Scout Motors stories to life, build brand awareness, strengthen loyalty, and support action around company priorities.
  • Scripts and Storytelling: Write talking points, speeches, video scripts, event remarks, and scripted content for leaders, employees, campaigns, and company storytelling moments.
  • Executive Messaging: Support executive communications by drafting and editing leadership messages, speeches, talking points, presentations, video scripts, LinkedIn posts, and other high-visibility materials that reflect Scout Motors’ voice and business priorities.
  • Employee Communications: Develop internal communications that help employees understand company priorities, navigate change, and stay connected to Scout Motors’ strategy, culture, and milestones.
  • Consistent Brand Voice: Help maintain a consistent brand voice by aligning content with brand standards, company messaging, and editorial guidelines.
  • Strong Editing and Proofreading: Edit and proofread content for clarity, accuracy, consistency, grammar, and style.
  • Project Management: Juggle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
