The Configuration Management Specialist will be responsible for providing configuration and data management support to their assigned program(s). This role involves planning, managing, and reporting on documentation to meet customer requirements, reviewing drawings and documentation, and interfacing with various departments. The specialist will enforce established processes, approve/reject documentation, coordinate with external entities regarding requirements, and act as a primary point of contact for program technical data. Key responsibilities include ensuring adherence to data identification, marking, review, and release procedures, proactively identifying and correcting data errors, implementing data control methodologies, and maintaining quality standards. The role also encompasses managing data items and SDRL/CDRL schedules, enforcing Intellectual Property protection, providing guidance on documentation creation, generating Configuration Status Accounting reports, performing audits, and facilitating Configuration Control Boards. Familiarity with data marking, formatting, and handling is essential, as is the ability to multitask, prioritize, communicate effectively, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
