About The Position

The Specialist Buyer will be responsible for releasing RFQs, gathering quotations, and reviewing/negotiating pricing for Transmission and Motor components. This role involves developing new local suppliers in North America and identifying cost reduction opportunities through design specification reviews and VA/VE initiatives.

Requirements

Experience releasing RFQs and gathering quotations.
Experience in cost analysis and price negotiation.
Experience in supplier development and building strategic partnerships.
Understanding of cost structures (Material cost, Labor cost, Manufacturing Burden, Amortization of Investment cost, Lump-sum cost).
Familiarity with design specifications (Material, Engineering Spec., Packaging).
Knowledge of VA/VE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) concepts.

Responsibilities

Release RFQs and gather quotations from suppliers for Transmission and Motor components.
Receive ballpark, cost estimate, offer sheet, or quotations from new/existing suppliers in North America.
Analyze cost standards and supplier cost structures.
Establish cost standards and North America market prices for each component, including material cost, labor cost, manufacturing burden, amortization of investment cost, and lump-sum cost.
Review prime cost and negotiate piece prices.
Develop cost-competitive and reliable new local suppliers for North America localization.
Investigate and discover potential suppliers to broaden the supplier pool in North America.
Build strategic or long-term partnerships with cost-competitive suppliers.
Discuss and explain development schedules with suppliers according to project milestones and SOP timing.
Review and discuss design specifications (Material, Engineering Spec., Packaging, etc.) with suppliers.
Investigate potential cost reduction, productivity, and VA/VE ideas from suppliers or for each component.
