About The Position

Recovery Network of Programs, Inc. (RNP), is a private, non-profit, social service agency that has been serving the Greater Bridgeport Community and Fairfield County area since 1972. RNP is dedicated to helping those living with substance use, mental health disorders, and homelessness. Our mission is to restore hope, health, and wellbeing for individuals and families in a recovery environment that embraces compassion, dignity and respect. This position will be based in Bridgeport, CT.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Ability to engage clients in professional, caring, and compassionate manner.
  • Ability to gather, analyze and evaluate information pertinent to the screening and admission process for clients with co-occurring substance dependence and mental health issues.
  • Knowledge of the physical, psychological, social, and economic effects of substance abuse, homelessness, medical and mental health disorders.
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of evidence-based counseling for integrated care.
  • Knowledge of community resources; federal and state laws and regulations regarding client confidentiality.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to project a professional image.
  • Valid Connecticut driver’s license required

  • Experience working in addiction treatment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate over the phone screenings
  • Welcome, register and admit clients into the centralized intake center program
  • Collect personal information, medical histories, and insurance details relevant to admission for services
  • Conduct screenings for each RNP program
  • Utilize various Electronic Health Records systems
  • Answer questions related to services and make referrals when necessary
  • Schedule admissions appointments at appropriate programs for enrollment
  • Carefully updates daily admissions list, as necessary
  • Maintain a timely, accurate wait list and considers priority admission criteria when determining requests to access care
  • Responsible for implementation and maintenance of an efficient and effective admissions process to maximize program capacity and utilization
  • Assertively links person served to community resources and other natural supports
  • Serve as an advocate for clients in obtaining necessary services
  • Adheres to all documentation and reporting requirements
  • Assumes all other appropriate duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor
