About The Position

We are seeking a Specialist in Accounting to join our team. This professional will possess a strong knowledge of the full accounting cycle, analytical acumen, experience in driving and leading special projects and experience with automation, and proficiency in systems such as SAP, PeopleSoft, Costpoint, HFM, ARCS, and CoStar. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate financial information effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and other accounting activities as needed, for several accounting areas, including but not limited to, Cash, Fixed Assets, Intercompany, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Time and Labor, and Leases.
  • Evaluate financial data and perform different analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Responsible for the preparation of different reports for financial reporting purposes (e.g., roll forwards, reporting schedules, variance analysis)
  • Responsible for evaluating different agreements, reports, or data to determine the appropriate accounting treatment
  • Communicate within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures.
  • Contribute to substantial improvements to processes to enhance performance within the job area through automation
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees.
  • Explain, interpret, and gain cooperation on accounting policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Strong understanding on accounting principles (GAAP) and knowledge in internal controls and related regulations (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley)
  • Strong understanding in ASC 842 Lease Accounting and ASC 360 Property, Plan, and Equipment standards and requirements
  • Support audit requests from internal and external auditors
