About The Position

Accommodations & Attendance Management (AAM) Specialists provide advanced knowledge as a strategic partner & subject matter expert in design/delivery/implementation of HR services & strategies to improve operations, achieve goals & resolve issues. The Specialist provides guidance & support for all return to work and/or accommodations & attendance issues including external insurance providers, CBA interpretations, validating & requesting additional medical information, grievance procedures including arbitrations, & policy development. They will develop & provide education for physicians, managers, union representatives, & employees regarding AAM programs/processes. The Specialist demonstrates strong leadership to enable an innovative & positive working climate/client-centric culture. The Specialist works cross functionally within the portfolio & across the organization to support operations. The Specialist will develop partnerships & work closely with system & community partners.

Requirements

  • 3 years experience in health care and/or disability or attendance management
  • Master of Social Work (MSW)
  • Bachelor of Kinesiology (BKin)
  • Social Work diploma (DipSW)
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in a health related field
  • Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable
  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Disability Support Worker certificate is acceptable

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and support for all return to work and/or accommodations & attendance issues.
  • Liaise with external insurance providers.
  • Interpret Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).
  • Validate and request additional medical information.
  • Manage grievance procedures, including arbitrations.
  • Develop and implement policy.
  • Develop and provide education for physicians, managers, union representatives, and employees regarding AAM programs/processes.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership to enable an innovative and positive working climate/client-centric culture.
  • Work cross-functionally within the portfolio and across the organization to support operations.
  • Develop partnerships and work closely with system and community partners.
