About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Special Security Technician (Mid) for a USSPACECOM program in Colorado Springs, CO. This role involves assisting the Special Security Officer (SSO) in managing access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and SCI Facilities (SCIFs), processing visitor clearances, conducting security briefings and training, and managing SCI position and eligibility requests. The technician will also serve as a Controlled Access Program (CAP) security specialist, implementing protocols to prevent espionage, terrorism, and unauthorized disclosure of vital information. This includes developing and integrating CAP program protection requirements, providing expertise on CAP/SAP/SAR policies, and executing security and program protection measures for USSPACECOM operations. The role also entails training personnel on program protection requirements and providing security operations analysis and recommendations.

Requirements

Must possess a Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain a polygraph
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience and at least eight years of relevant experience
Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain a polygraph

Responsibilities

Assists the Special Security Officer (SSO) to ensure control of access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and SCI Facilities (SCIFs)
Certifying and receiving SCI visitor clearances / accesses
Conducts SCI security briefings, indoctrinations, debriefings, training on classified material / SSO-related material and topics
Obtains signed nondisclosure agreements
Provides guidance and assistance for processing SCI position and eligibility requests for assigned military, Government and contractor personnel
Serves as a Controlled Access Program (CAP) security specialist for lifecycle program protection management for USSPACECOM
Implements protocols to actively reduce the chances for espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure or compromise of information or material considered vital to command mission interests, national defense, or national security
Develops, implements, and integrates CAP program protection requirements supporting USSPACECOM essential program information, operations, technologies, and systems
Provides detailed knowledge of DoD, IC, services, and mission partners' CAP / SAP / SAR policies, plans, and procedures as the CAP / Special Access Program (SAP) / Special Access Required (SAR) subject matter expert
Recommends and executes "cradle to grave" security and program protection as it relates to USSPACECOM operations and equities
Trains and manages the daily development of associated personnel on individual CAP / SAP program protection requirements and processes as directed
Provides all CAP / SAP / SAR security operations, analysis decisions, and recommendations in appropriate formats to meet DoD and USSPACECOM requirements
Audits of classified material
Inspections of classified material storage facilities / SCIFs / containers
Researching and preparing classified material-related policy and management recommendations, reports, and recommendations
